The birth went spectacularly. Liz had him out in just ten action packed hours. However it soon became obvious that he would need a bit of extra support as his breathing was rather fast and shallow. So we reluctantly, yet dutifully, made our way to the Foothills Community Hospital in Boulder where I am currently writing this post from.
We'll be here till at least Monday, observing a possible infection, hoping that it is only some fluid left over in his lungs that is causing his respiratory distress.
Whatever the case may be he gets better by the hour and is overall a very healthy baby.
We will be sure to keep you posted as events unfold and we get a few more photos for you. For now I will leave you with these, taken on his very first day.

Welcome to the world, Sage!! He is beautiful and I've never seen a newborn look so peaceful after the journey out! Surely his spectacular parents have something to do with that! Best wishes for a quick hospital stay.
